V2 spring system update!

V2 spring system update!

As many of you know, our V2 hidden blades have been listed as "spring compatible" for some time. That’s true! However, the journey to fully integrate springs has taken longer than expected. We’ve received countless requests for spring upgrades to replace the current elastics, and we appreciate your patience as we work toward that goal.

So, why the delay? It turns out, finding the right spring isn’t as straightforward as it might seem. We started by experimenting with various off-the-shelf springs (which are more affordable since they’re pre-made in standard sizes). Yet, none of them met our needs. Some springs were too strong, others too weak, and many required extensive modifications just to fit.

When we finally found springs that somewhat worked, we hit another snag: the feel of the blades changed significantly. Unlike the smooth, gradual tension of elastics, the springs felt stiff and abrupt. Initially, they pulled smoothly, but then quickly hit a point where the force became uncomfortably strong. It just wasn’t the seamless experience we wanted for our blades.

To solve this, we invested in specialized measuring tools to compare the tension profiles of springs and elastics. The data helped us understand the problem and led us to a single solution: custom springs. After three rounds of prototyping, partnering with two different companies, and a fair bit of investment, we believe we’ve finally cracked the code. Our latest prototype feels almost identical to the elastics but offers extra power, allowing the blade to extend smoothly and overcome gravity with ease.

Now, our next step is mass production. Once the custom springs are ready, we’ll begin incorporating them into our V2 blades. We don’t have an exact release date yet, but we’re getting close! Stay tuned here for updates as we move forward. Thanks again for your support and enthusiasm—it drives us to make these blades the best they can be!
